Country Coach 40' Allure

We are considering purchasing a used Country Coach class A 40' motorhome. We have had pull trailers and 5th wheels for years and decided to try the motorhome thing. Doeas anyone have any experiences god or bad with Country Coach products?

The unit we are looking at is a 2007, 40 footer, 36K mi,400 cummins, Allison Tranny, side rariator, tag axle etc... Very nice looking on the inside.
  • I agree with the recommendation to check IRV2.com CC owners forum. We just got our Allure this past April and it is certainly a solidly built coach, very good quality overall. Things to look for:

    1. if it has the original aluminum radiator/cooling pack, that was a problem for many. The aluminum cooling pack was prone to leaking and is very expensive to replace.

    2. the hydraulic pump that runs the power steering and the cooling fan is a PTO-driven pump mounted to the tranmission. Most of them were originally installed 'dry' (PTO spline was greased only) and there were some failures. CC later developed a 'wet PTO' upgrade that provides continuous lubrication. Make sure the wet PTO upgrade was done.

Be advised that even though Country Coach did close in about 2009/10, they have reopened as a repair and parts faciliy in their original location in Oregon. They provide technical assistance and can provide any parts for that coach, including body panels if needed. This was a plus for us when the bought the Allure.

The coach rides and drives wonderfully and we are thrilled to have ours.
  • Better buy it! I hear they are going to stop making 2007 models!!.....:B
