Country Coach Allure 2006 questions

Hello, everybody!

We are looking at Allure Siskiyou Summit 470 2006. It would be really nice if somebody who owns this model could write what they feel. Does it have any problems? What should we pay attention to expect usual things as leaks, etc?

We are very nervous as it is going to be our first motorhome and it is so expensive. We know it is big and it is diesel. We read a lot about motorhomes and how to check them, we saw many too. But we never considered Country Coach till this one came alone. We did not see it yet but planning within next few days.

Thanks!

  • There are quite a few Allure owners on the CC owners of IRV2.

  • With all the dry PTO problems I have read about I would say good. I would look at the paint real good. Especially the darker colors for checking. This is with any manufacture around that year.

If no PTO then you are running both the hydraulic fan and power steering off the accessory drive of the engine.

    is it good or bad?

  • Thank you so much for your answer, Dean!

It IS Cummins ISL 8.9L, 400hp. I will ask for the engine s/n. Seems like it is a hassle to find but I will ask the owner. Do you think if the coach has 114000 miles driven it would blow up long time ago?

Also, the owner states that there is no PTO system on his.

He is not sure if radiator is aluminum. I there a way to check?

    Thanks again!
  • I would check that the engine, if a Cummins ISL 400, is on the infamous CM550 recall list. The engine serial numbers range from 46543077 to 46603939. If it is I would not purchase. Mine blew up at 28,000 miles, about one month before the 5 year warranty expired. These engines were produced between October 2005 & April 2006.

PTO should have been upgraded from the original dry version to the wet version. Aluminum radiators can also be a problem and seem to fail eventually.

  • The Allure is the best bang for the buck in the Country Coach line. A fine coach.
