- rbrandExplorerI'm 76 and just bought my 4th. No counting the Sail boat.
- femailyettiExplorerI was a BSA High wire COPE and climbing leader from my 30s to my mid fifty's, backpacking even now at 55, if you want to do it, do it. My kids still ask me some times ""Dad is this going to hurt. I say. Don't know but I think so""" Live it up. Life being a little sore beats the alterative. lol
- Monty-RobExplorerInteresting and great comments.....looking forward to many more years as long as my wife and I have good health
- LwiddisExplorer IIWhy not? Planning on dying soon? Lost your interest in seeing our country?
- GPWayneExplorerWhen I was a kid of 73 I was working full-time spoiling the grandkids and putting miles on the motorhome. Lots to see and do. Still at it almost ten years later.
Get out there and enjoy.
What doesn't kill you, makes you stronger.....Works for me.
(I've been told, however bears will kill you. So I just take pictures and keep my distance) Trying to cut down on doing stupid stuff, but DW says I'm still at it. My grandsons ask me what will happen if we do this or that. I say, well let's try it. (We have a deal. I don't tell their Moms and they don't tell Grammy.)
You are never too young or too old to learn. - tropical36Explorer

Doesn't matter what anyone else has done. It matters if you feel OK with it.
There are some folks out there who shouldn't be driving MHs at any age and there are those who are good with it.
Do you believe it's a good idea? And do the people closest to you agree? Then go for it.
If you or everyone else you know has serious thoughts about it, then talk to your doctor and/or take a driving session and see what the instructor thinks. Then make your decision.
I say that having seen some people refuse to accept that driving any vehicle isn't a good idea. It's not about the age, it's about the abilities.
I had an uncle in his late 90's who never accepted, being unable to drive safely anymore and couldn't even drive his golf cart all that well. Kid finally took the car away from him and he just passed away recently at 104. Nothing was really wrong with him, he just shut down one day and called it quits. Remembering back, I don't think he ever was all that good of a driver when I think about it. - tropical36Explorer

Thinking of buying first motorhome at 73...anyone here do anything crazy like that?
Not sure if I'm crazy or not, as most crazy's aren't aware of their condition, but bought our 3d one last year, at age 76.5, so now a year older.
Thing is, we'll never again be as young, as we are right now, which sounds better than being older, than we've ever been. - toedtoesExplorer IIIDoesn't matter what anyone else has done. It matters if you feel OK with it.
