Dashboard cover

I am considering putting a carpet cover on the dashboard of our coach. I want to try and tackle this job myself. Any advice and/or has anyone did this?
  • I did a search on dash covers a few months back and I was amazed there are a ton of websites for dash covers. Standard to fit just about everything and you can order to fit and/or order the material. Real nice professional looking ones too.

I can tell you my friend bought the 'molded dash cover' and loves it. Being RV'ers the molded one keeps the existing places for holding stuff crisp and fits the dash like a glove.

Scroll down to the bottom for the custom fit molded dash cover.

  • It kind of depends on the complexity of your dash. If you can make it out of one flat piece, make a template of thin cardboard or heavy paper. You can tape small sections together. Put the carpet upside down on a flat surface, put the template on it bottom side up as well and cut with a razor knife. I've done this for a flat dash and it was no big deal. If you have a raised section you can do it separately and then whip stitch the joints from the back side and follow up with carpet tape.
