Diesel pusher with no 50amp plug-in?

If you have a 30 amp receptacle at the RV pad, then you will be fine with the DP. If not, as suggested above, a 30 amp or 50 amp RV plug is not that expensive to install, less than $500.

Reno is high elevation, so the climate is pretty cool, even in summer. It is also fairly low humidity, say 60% would be a extreme humidity day there in the spring. It is still comfortable.

30 amps is pretty easy to deal with. You can run a coffee maker and still leave the A/C on. You probably will be going inside for coffee many mornings anyway.

The TV and battery charger should be less than 1 amp each once the battery is full.

Make sure that you check the voltage to the plug before plugging in. For the 50 amp, there should be a ground wire and neutral wire in the center of the plug, with the two hot lines on the sides. So 120 volts from either side to the center lugs, and 240 between the left and right sides.

If you have a 30 amp, then it should be ground on the bottom, left will be 120 volts to ground, and right should be less than 5 volts to ground and 120 volts to the other side.

Your control panel inside your coach should regulate your amperage. If it gets hot out just run your air conditioner on one cylinder.

Even in 4 months you will need more likely heater than AC.
That said I was able to warm up my conversion with 1500W electric heater. = 13 amp
All depends how well insulated your coach is.
20 amps can power a lot if you know what you are doing. Just make sure you have at least 12 ga extension cord.
10 ga is more favorable.

I did a 50 amp hookup myself at my brother in law in rehobeth Delaware when we visit there in the hot of the summer... I plug right in and have water from the outside....I was just at their northern NJ house and we were there dry camping for 5 1/2 days...Using inverter, auto gen start and the temps were in the high 40's to about 60....had fans on to vent...really didn't have to run heat pumps except one night...I ran generator twice daily about 3 hours a time..kept the batteries up and fridge was on propane just fine..Came home with about 1/8 tank fresh water and pretty near full black/grey tanks...dump station for all of five bucks at the Allentown Pa turnpike service area...and we were good to go...remember to look up the legend of what you need...the two sides are 120v and the top is neutral and the bottom ground...it looks like a dryer outlet but wired totally differently.

I have installed of 50 amp outlets at friends places I visit annually. The convenience is worth it to me.
If garage is close outlet can be installed in garage and cord run under door.

my brother doesn't have an RV but I gave him a 30 amp receptacle last year because some of our friends stop to see him at times. He installed it and a cable hookup. All works fine

John, if you are going to visit your daughter on a regular basis, have a 50 amp plug put in. It will make it easier, especially, if you go in the summer and need air conditioning.

When we visit my daughter in California we just plug into a 15/20amp plug. For sewer, we use the clean out. Water is easily hooked up. Never have had a problem with that setup.

Depending on the length of the run, it'll cost in the neighborhood of $200 to have a 50amp receptacle installed.....Dennis
