Dish tv remote and electronic eye for tv

We have hooked up the entertainment system in our 2016 Winnebago Cambria J30 to Dish tv. We have now sat tv when we point the remote to the receiver which is behind the TV, only when we swing the TV out. But when the tv is in its place, the electronic eye in the ceiling in front of the TV does not do what we want (eg volume up or down, change channels) even though the electronic eye blinks as soon as we press a dish tv remote button.
Has anyone had this problem and know how to solve it?
Thanks very much for your time to respond.
  • I don't think this will help you but this is how ours works. We have Direct TV, when the system was installed I purchased a different remote that doesn't have to have inline contact with the receiver. My receiver is in a cabinet next to the TV. I don't evern open the door of the cabinet to see the receiver. The remote works fine. It even works with the outside entertainment TV which is hooked up to the same receiver inside the coach. Works fine from outside. Maybe dish has something simular?
  • Look in your Dish receiver book, and you can program the Dish remote to do on/off and volume changes on the TV. Unfortunately to chg channels the remote has to talk to the Dish receiver for the IR remotes. They do have an RF version that would fix your issue though.
