Do my emergency exit windows open?

I have a 2014 Fleetwood Bounder Classic 30T. I'm not sure if my emergency exit window slide open for everyday use, or are for emergency use only. I contacted Fleetwood Customer Service, even sending a picture of my window mechanism. The reply I received was that many do open, but they didn't have a window like mine to look at, so as of right now, no one knows. I'm waiting to see if they can find one to look at.

I've included the photo, hoping someone here can shed light on my windows. Both emergency exit window are the slider type, and they have screens on the left side, indicating to me they should open for ventilation. I've tried to open them, but they are either very tight, or are not made for normal use. I hope my picture posts OK. Thanks for your help!

  • I have a emergency exit window like yours except with a black handle. I open it all the time.
  • If they are sticking, then after freeing them, spray some silicone spray on the runners on the top and bottom of window slide
  • Agree. IF it has a screen on it. Use it. Besides. Its yours. You can open it if you want. Opening it will not break it
  • They stick after a while because of the rubber seals. A person really should force them open at least once a year to keep them operable.
As for whether it's OK to use all the time, if it's got a screen then it's for normal usage but if it doesn't then there's probably no way to prop it open.
