In my old Winnebago, I had 2 doors. The first was a wood door that I kept shut - from the galley area to the bathroom. I didn't have a way to secure it in place and the only way I could keep it from swinging back and forth was to close it.
The second door was an accordion-style door from the bathroom to the bedroom. It had a strap with a button that was used to secure it open and a magnet to keep it closed. The strap was far more sturdy in keeping it open than the magnet was to keep it closed. So, it stayed open.
On my 2001 Wanderlodge, I have 2 pocket doors and a solid door. The 2 pocket doors (1 from galley to bathroom and 1 from bathroom to bedroom) both have a way to secure them open or closed. They stay open when travelling. It keeps airflow and makes it easier for my wife to move around on those rare occasions she needs to do so. The solid door goes to the toilet area from within the bathroom. It stays shut all the time (except when entering/exiting). Opening it puts it in the way and it also has no way to secure it when its not latched closed.
