Dometic Thermostat / 12v power issue...

Ok, then get a 120v thermostat or a battery one.

This is a 1996 Terry Parkmodel Trailer (39').
It is parked in a trailer park (Woodhaven Lakes in Sublette IL.) where there are "true" parkmodels and regular tow behind trailers. Mine, well, I guess you could tow it while watching the classic, "The Long, Long Trailer". Tho, I never will. It is connected to a 50 amp connection. It was with the plan to "upgrade" to a 'real' park model. Just strange I can't find a 12v power source anywhere.

If you have circuit breakers only, then you have a 240/120 Volt, 50 Amp park model built specifically to be pulled to a mobile home park (or RV park with park models), connected to power in any number of ways, then left there. For years or decades.

No fuses means no 12 volt.

And it would be a simple install in either a Class A or a park model. Just need to find the right installer.

You say this is a park model. That could be a fully 120 Volt unit. Those of us here on this forum, and in the Class A section where you posted, are thinking you're talking about a Class A RV, which will surely have 12V somewhere.

Now, if you have a park model, that was setup in a RV park but is never moved, then you might have to install a small Power Supply! To run your thermostat, it wouldn't need to be very big or powerful. (Any electrician would have no problem coming up with a solution but probably not at $10). Here's one on Amazon: Power Cube

This plugs into a 120 V outlet but there are other transformers out there that can be wired in directly. Then there are readily available transformers, often referred to as Bell Transformers, but those usually start at 24 Volts. Used for the doorbell in most homes.

Let us know if you have a mobile RV or if it's a true park model.

Yowza, just got off the phone with the help I had with the install. Mentioned connecting to a light switch (constant on) and he said, you better not do that because that's at 110v! He said, nothing in your trailer is 12v. When i mentioned all of what you all have said he mentions, "that's because they think you connect this to a truck and tow it."
I will say, this is connected to a 50 amp service (for parkmodel's)... when I mentioned the power is coming from the furnace he said it might be but i bet it's 24v! (this hasn't been checked)

****, i don't get this... some say it's a simple install and yet i'm rackin' my brains trying to get 12v power to this unit w/o using a whacked out motorcycle battery for power, REALLY!!!
He says i don't have 12v power anywhere in the trailer!

Most RVP wall tstats get their power from the FURNACE power wires to the wall tstat. The Dometic Single Zone you installed uses just 3 wires from the upper control board. The 12 volt POWER for the Single zone comes from the upper control board. The upper control board has a Negative and a Positive wire connection and that POSIIVE wire at the upper board MUST have 12 volt power there. The wall tstat does NOT have any spare power connections. The power comes thru those 3 wires going to the upper control board. Usually, you determine WHICH of the 5 to 7 wires at the old wall tstat hole has 12 volt positive. You then use one of the extra wires(not the 3 you are using for the Dometic) and use that 4th to supply 12 volts up to the upper AC control board and connect to the 12 volt input of that upper control board. Are the lights 12 volt if so you have the power at the switch. Is it a regular house hold switch or the smaller 12 volt? If it is a house hold it still might be 12 volt. Do you have a muti-meter to test with? Even at the age of your park model most ran 12 volt interior lighting.
