I can offer my recent experience. We have had 2 gas coaches - 1988 Winnebago Superchief 34' P30 454 7mpg, and a 2005 Fleetwood Flair 34F 8.1 Workhorse 8mpg. I had just upgraded the 2005 - new roof coating, new windows, new tires fully serviced, etc. Last year we sold the Fleetwood and purchased a 2013 Tiffin Allegro Red 38QBA - Cummins ISB6.7. Previous coach my wife also struggled going on trips. With the new coach she is all on board. Comfort, luxury, amenities, storage, ride quality, quietness, all at a smoking good used price (about the cost of a new gas unit) . This coach only had 4800 miles on it. I just did a 3000 mile trip and averaged 11mpg at 65mph. It was a learning curve on driving and servicing the DP, but it is so much easier to drive and quiet - I am hooked and will never go back.
