- Tammy_SearcherExplorerI drive my 22' on the beach at Ocean Shores, Washington. It's wonderful for spending a sunny afternoon right on the beach. These beaches all have well maintained access. Stay out of the soft sand!
- rockhillmanorExplorer IIThis is a picture from years ago of a forum members 4x4 Class C that they drove on the beaches all the time. Would love to own one like this.:C
- OldmeExplorerBe aware that most have open rear ends.
If one driving wheel spins, that's it.
Posi traction would help.
I came close twice to getting stuck, not on a beach but once
on the edge of the road on an exit and once in a grass field.
I can see it working if the sand is a solid packed area. - Dusty_RExplorerThere's a camp ground on the beach on Padre Island TX. Have camped there.

- JaxDadExplorer IIIMy coach has been driven on beaches it's entire (20 year) life, by it's first owner, a friend of the family for it's first 15 years, and me for the last 5 years.
It's never been stuck, and there's nary a spot of rust on it, top or bottom.. - Mike_NWExplorerTried it last summer. It looked so inviting as the beach just seemed to be an extension of the road. Of course as I was about 300 feet beyond the road I determined this was a very bad idea. I then proceeded to call AAA RV and they indicated they can only recover a vehicle on the road and we were off road. They referred me to a local towing company that quoted around $300 to pull me back tot he roadway. Fortunately a passer by in a 4x4 saw us and rescued us with a tow. Very much a learning experience and next time I will park the RV and WALK the beach. Good luck.
- RobertRyanExplorerHere you see both Motorhomes and Caravans
- BurbManExplorer III have towed our 9000 lb TT on the beach in very soft sand with the Suburban many times...on Long Island it's not unusual to see C's on the beach....ones that have Quigley 4WD conversions that is. Air down to 15psi and you'll be fine...IF you have 4WD. If you have $10K to drop on a Quigley 4WD conversion, grab your tire gauge and go for it!
- JAXFLExplorerI know that folks drive on the beach at Daytona Beach and I have done it with the 4x4 out of 4x4 and depending on how you turn that was even scary as the sand gets real soft in different places and just as you get ready to leave. Then you have the tide to worry about. I would not do the motorhome.
