The loads will vary. I need to run our TT and a reznor heater in a shop and possibly another heater in the shop. I dont know the actual loads but i know the heaters wont take alot as the reznor wil be propane and the othe dsl. I am having a shop built soon and will need to thaw the ground inside so we can pour concrete and i cant get power for approx 6 weeks. I think that with the price difference in fuel i am going to go buy a Honda EU6500 and jst buy gas as it uses approx same amount of fuel as Cummins/Onan 6 or 8 kw. I was hoping the dsl was more fuel efficient but they are actually real close. I already own a Honda 3000 if i need more than the 6500.
The diesel generator will be way more fuel efficient than the gas. The Honda will burn near a gallon per hour - JetAonlyExplorer

Now that I think about it, I would put in a standby generator for the shop/home as part of the construction. Do that first and all the bases are covered. - JetAonlyExplorerOne other thing to consider is the type generator. It is my understanding those with revolving rotors handle surge a bit better than the inverter types.

- tatestExplorer IIFrom 50% rated output to full output, expect 1.5 to 2 pounds of hydrocarbon fuel per KWH, whether diesel, gasoline, or LPG. Specific fuel consumption will be higher at loads below 50% but less so with DC-inverter gensets that can reduce output in an "economy" mode.
Thus to estimate how many pounds (or gallons) per hour, or day, you need to have an idea of how much poer you are using, for how long. Most RV gensets are designed for peak loads, so we don't use them anywhere close to full output. Size and fuel type matters less than power consumption. - wny_pat1Explorer

I think you can down load one from the Cummins Onan website.
....i dont have a manual as i dont own one. I am looking to buy one. - The_Shadow_NosExplorerI have a 7500 and did a test this past summer at the FMCA rally in Gillette Wyoming. I filled up my tank before the rally. Went to the rally ran the generator 78 hours left the rally and filled it back up I averaged .25 gallons per hour
- nevadanickExplorerNo worries i appreciate you answering my question.
