If your slide is "IN" it should be OK. If it's going to creep out, Duct tape won't stop it.

I don't believe there is any tape that will hold in a slide that wants to come out.

A local dealer should have a slide lock, or as others have mentioned grab and cut a pair of 2x4's.

Avoid the duck tape, it could rip the graphics off when you remove tape.

Duct tape may leave a residue on the siding. It will take elbow grease or adhesive remover solvent to get rid of it.

Duck Tape brand duct tape should be fine.

My rig came with braces that go between the inside wall and the lip around the inside of the slide - up at the top of the slide. Designed to keep the slide from sliding out if something goes wrong. Doing something similar with 2x4s as mentioned makes sense.

I'm thinking a "broken" motor is a brake in itself. Have you tried to push the slide out?
Or if you can you get to the bottom where the drive assy is,maybe you could clamp onto the actuating rod with a vice grip.
