Dumb mistakes

We ran into a guy last month picked his new 5th wheel and was rinsing his tanks and forgot about them. He said it blowup the rear black tank and the contents was all in his new 5th wheel.

It was a 2016 Fuzion. Only a week or on the road.

Was it replaced by the insurance?

1. Just bought a new 5th Wheel and new Chevrolet dually, all excited as we headed out to our first campground, cone on site I was letting the landing gear down and it was taking a long time so while I waited, I decided go save some time and go ahead and pull the release on the 5th wheel hitch and that is when it all went down hill!!!! I had pulled up on leveling blocks and had not chocked the tires, when I pulled the release the trailer rolled back and landed on the top of my truck bed. The sides spread out trailer stopped when it finally landed on the landing gear. Looked worst and could have been a lot worst.

2. just recently on our new to us Class A, I put it in gear and took off with the full wall slide out. I only got about 10' before I saw the slide in my side mirror and was on our paved driveway, but felt stupid once again...

When the list is Done I'll Check It Out to see if I MISSED ANY!

Pulled our motorhome in to get fuel, after I was done I got back on the interstate and about a mile down the road a car told me to pull over. I had left my wife back at the station; I still have not lived that one down.

Got the crank up tv antenna once!

picked up the 5th wheel from storage and when I arrived back I noticed I had no awning protectors (gutter type). Must have driven off with them on the awning. Never did find them! Now I tie a string from the covers to the door so I don't forget!

But...I never forgot my wife at the gas station! (I confess that I may have wanted to a few times)

First trip out with a new TT we got to the site and started to disconnect.
Forgot about the safety chains and I hopped in the truck and pulled forward till truck came to a dead aburpt stop.
Luckily didn't brake anything but no matter what trailer I'm hooked to the wife still makes me triple check everything.

I feel so much better about mine:

1. Forgot to chock TT tires and trailer rolled into my new truck. Luckily only caused about 150.00 in damage.

2. Side swiped my neighbors Prius parked on my street. It was the neighborhood garage sale and cars were everywhere. I was focused on not hitting another car and accidentally swiped the Prius. That little accident cost my insurance company over 20,000. You should have seen the Prius!
