dura therm comfort control thermostat

so after switching zones it still goes from 1 to 3 without ever showing a zone 2 now...
in zone 1 the air blows cold & in zone 3 the air just blows like it is in fan mode.

do I need to reset my tstat or what?

READ the manual that Doug post the link for and do a reset on the stat. Have both units off and power to the system. My #3 is my heater. Also if you have ducted system (on mine, you think both units are running if on low but they are not. On high you know they both are on.)

My next question is this RV new to you or have the AC's always done this or just started.

When they rebuild these old stat, they just resolder the connectors and some do install new touch pad under the switches.

my other problem is that it doesn't matter if I run it on zone 1 or zone 3. both units still blow. is this normal?

it now switches but only between zone 1 & zone 3?
can u tell me what each zone means & maybe why I'm not getting zone 2 anymore

You are better off upgrading to the 5 button tstat. You buy 2- 5 button upper control boards(if you have 2 units) at $95 each and a 5 button tstat at $85. $275 and you have NEW control boards and a NEW tstat that has the ZONE button. They also come with NEW freeze Thermister's which are better than the old bi metal freeze sensor, PLUS, IF you have a Heat Pump on the 4 button, the NEW freeze Thermister will work with a Heat Pump. The 4 button Heat Pump had NO freeze Sensor as the Bi metal could not function when in Heat mode. Doug

Think of Zone 1 and Zone 2 as Zone 1 is downstairs(front of RV) and the Zone 2 is upstairs(rear of RV). EACH Zone is its own tstat. Doug

this system is like mine,i usually run front air to cool faster because it is a little bigger unit,when the rv is cooled down good I will switch to rear air so that I can hear the tv better.The banging sound you hear from the rear air is most likely a mud dobber nest in the fins of your blower fan,it will really throw it out of balance.

I told you to push FAN and MODE at the same time to switch zones. NOT Mode and Temp. The reason the rear does NOT respond is because Zone 2 is set for that AC and until you access the Zone 2 it will not stop or change its preset. You CAN push the Black ON/OFF button on the BOTTOM frame of the tstat to completely turn the tstat OFF. When you do that BOTH Zones and AC units will turn OFF. One of the problems with the original 4 button was the buttons wore out and it was almost impossible to get the Zones to switch. Even by pushing the correct 2 buttons. Doug
