Ellipse/Tour-Generator slide not releasing to extend-HELP!

I am unable to extend the generator slide on our new to us 2011 Itasca Ellipse 42QD. I've pulled the release handle forward-it moves about 1" but nothing on the slide releases. I know there is a second latch to release as the slide moves forward but, the slide is not moving at all. Looking under the slide, I can see that the release rod is moving as I pull forward but it appears that there may be a catch that is not releasing. Has anyone had this issue?
  • Call Winnebago support or you can perhaps look up the design of the generator tray online as Winne puts all online...With my Entegra, the latch is on the bottom of the tray...unless you know it was there..it was tough to find.
  • Any chance the tray rollers need some WD-40? Not moving at all (like no slight wiggle?)?
  • Yes and some times I have to manually hold the release catch open to move the slide.

  • OK, found the problem. The tray apparently needs to be lubricated as it takes way too much force to pull open. Will apply grease/lubricant to the rollers and slides and see what happens.
  • I thought the Ellipse/Tour was electric. Maybe I was thinking of Revolution.

My research indicates that for the 11-12 model, no. The powered tray was added in 2013. Perhaps it was because the previous trays had issues?:h
  • SOLO: Did you get it moving? You are right, our 12 Tour is a real bugger at times.

OK, tray is sliding better-at least it moves with modest effort now! Used a lithium grease on the roller, latches and guides and it moves so it will at least open, close and latch.
