Entertainment system.2009 Itasca

I have a Memorex DVD Home Theater System .Playing a DVD you get great surround sound. Now that my satellite is up and running I watch TV.

Reading the information that came with the player I think I get surround sound when playing a DVD only. I want surround sound with the TV. What to do?

The Magnadyne radio is a piece of junk. I need to swap that out with a Sirrius XM radio, no problem there.

Quest video select system. In order for this to work the satellite signal needs to go directly to this box. From there i can select whatever TV I would like to watch. The problem is that the direct TV box

uses a HDMI connector and the Quest box only accepts a screw on cable.

I m sure there have been upgrades to these components, any help in the right direction would be appreciated.

Connect the red and white audio out from the sat receiver to the audio in on surround sound. Should work!

Yes it does. So much better than the audio from just the TV.

I'm curious ... what about the Magnadyne is junk?

I have one in our 2005 Itasca and get along with it pretty good I think, but may be missing something.

Mine has a mind of it's own. I think it's haunted. I guess it's really not junk just in need of some help.
