EVAP Canister
I have a 2006 Allegro Bay with W24 chassis and 8.1 Liter Vortec engine. Fuel pump keeps shutting off when filling gas tank - could be blocked air line or EVAP canister - where is the canister on my engine?

- LOOK at the space around the nozzle when it is in the hole. There should be plenty of vent space there for filling. The internal vapor recovery system should not be active during filling.
This is almost always due to an obstruction in the filler neck or pipe. Sometimes the pipe is even bent. Sometimes it is just a design defect and pulling the nozzle back out a half inch or so will solve the problem. - Thanks for the reply - I replaced the EVAP valve about 8 months ago and that's about when the problem started. If it isn't active during filling then I need to check for blockage somewhere.

- The coach is 10 years old and it might be the rubber hose from the filler to the tank. Check to see if the hose has deteriorated. These are usually accessible from a wheel well or from underneath or you may have to remove the entire filler plate.
