Ever denied parking spot even though you legally fit?

I was reading parking laws of some of the places we plan on visiting and I noticed parking bans that were very general like "No RV Parking". Has anyone ever been denied parking JUST because they fit ...

I guess I would just say "a van, like a handicapped van" and not explain anything more than that. But I would like to know the difference between an RV and a MH, motor home.
