Extended Warranty Choices???

Well, we have finally found the perfect motorhome for our family and love it! We bought a 2008 Fleetwood Providence 39R 3 weeks ago from the original owner and absolutely love it! It is wonderfully room for our 16 yr old who is disabled and needs the extra room provided with the superslide.

We know that we want/need an extended service plan because of it's age, miles (90k) and because we aren't necessarily "handy". The previous owner was meticulous with his service and maintenance and we have all those records.

We would appreciate any and all advice and suggestions on which extended service plans to consider for our coach!!!! Thanks in advance!!
  • I would put that money in the bank pay for your own repairs.
I'm money ahead by doing that.
  • Unless Motor Homes are different, for TT's there is the 1 year manufacturer warranty and then the extended warranty is purchased at that time. Sometimes you can delay purchasing the extended warranty right before that first year is over ... sometimes. Mostly the extended warranties are for 5 years and then, that's it! Maybe they can be extended longer than that, but I've never heard of anyone doing that.

For an 8 year old RV, I don't know of any extended warranty that would apply. You might be able to get a service plan, which is different than a warranty, but that would be the only option I see after 8 years.

I could be wrong, hopefully someone else more experienced with Motor Homes can chime in, since they have drive-trains and the mechanics of the engine and transmission, which might put them into a different ball park.
