Mr. Vicsrc, some people, such as yourself, feel comfort in having the extended warranty and I certainly understand that. There are a lot of people in that boat.
Personally, I could not stand the frustration of dealing with an extended warranty company as most of the appliances have their own warranty, the chassis (1 yrs.), the engine (5 yrs.) and the transmision (5 yrs.).
The extended policy that we were offered was $8,900. After reading all of the FINE print, it didn't really seem to cover much so we passed. We are fortunate that we have had very little repairs that would have been covered under an extended warranty. We are very far ahead of the game at 7yrs. of ownership and 65,000 miles.
Our roof top airs (3) had a three year warranty of which the front one went out right at the 3 yr. mark. All I had to pay was the labor for installation. A lippert pump went out for the levelers and I think that and labor was less than $300. It would have taken us quite a while to reach that $8,900 which would be over now.
Since you apparently don't drive your motorhome very much (just over 1,000 miles a year), I'm not sure if I would worry with it.
Have you had a lot of claims with the current expired contract?
Good luck, wish you the best,
Mr. Mark
