F150 ford for toad

Can a 2014 F150. 4x4. Be towed easily behind DP for toad? Thanks for response.
  • I think that's my 2013 Ford F150 4x4 Lariat in my rear view mirror. LOL...No problem towing just follow the owners manual.

I was towing DW 2012 Ford Edge prior to the F-150. The truck is about 800 lbs heavier but I really don't notice the difference.
  • As of 2013 yes (only 4x4)according to my owners manual. It does involve a specific process. It was going to be my main toad until I bought a 2013 Edge.
For a 2014, I would make sure I checked the owners manual before purchase - you never know if they changed anything.

  • Yes, the 2012 & beyond Ford F-150 4X4's can be toed without restrictions. I have a 2012 F-150 that is as easy to set up and toe as my former Jeep Liberty.
  • What does your owners manual say? That would be the first place I'd go for info in writing about my new truck.
  • The FMCA 2014 Towing Guide also says yes on the Ford 150 4X4 Automatic. There is not a limit on tow speed. It weights about 4925 pounds.
  • The 2013 towing guide says YES. Transfer case and transmission in neutral and energize four wheel down towing position. I would check out a manual at the dealer first. Or on line. This is their automatic. They don't make a manual tranny.
  • Yes you can tow it. Even with the shift on the fly, it will still have a neutral option. Blue ox sells your base plate. Hooked up several of these trucks for towing and hasnt had any problems.
  • My understanding is that if it's ESOF 4WD, no. If it's a manual transfer case that can be put into neutral, yes. Do they even make a manual transfer case on the F150 any more? If it's the automatic shift on the fly, you need to get a drive-shaft disconnect device.
