- RE_ToddExplorerFlying J, Pilot, TA, then start looking. I hate small stations, no understanding of the rig.
- s_N_sExplorerFlying J is our preference.
- TrapExplorerPilot Flying J for us when possible. We have the charge card and really like the conveyance of pay at the pumps. Also like the fact we can park and have lunch or stretch for a bit if we want. Have never overnighted at one, but nice to know we can.
- TexasOkieExplorerI know not everyone is as foreward planning as I am, but my method is I know the range of my motorhome. So allowing for comfort level I look at my route that I am planning and use either Google Map or Bing Map and the Satellite and Street views to select a couple of stations where I can get in and out easily in a 34ft motorhome pulling a toad. I then buy gas there, I don't care what the brand is. Ease of access and exit is my criteria.
- Pass42ExplorerWe use Pilot/Flying J when available.. right off the interstates, easy off/easy on...always easy to maneuver in, reasonable pricing, overnight parking if needed.... We have their locations guide... makes finding one and planning stops easy.. a little noisy overnight, however, well lit, constant people around and a generally safe feeling...and our Good Sam card gets us a discount on fuel....
- J-RoosterExplorerAny place that I can get in or out easily.
- Blaster_ManExplorerPilot/Flying J fine...Loves a PITA.
- ferndaleflyerExplorer IIIThat difference in cash or credit is a big turn off to me. If Kroger can charge $.10 less a gallon than Pilots cash price and no difference in cash or credit it could be $.25--.35 difference real quick and this thing holds 110gal......
- FiestaExplorerBought the book NEXT EXIT. In red print are the big rig friendly gas/diesel pumps. Use Gas Buddy a lot. Many (ie. independents) don't charge for credit cards. I try to stay away from the Big 3 due to .10-.30 more per gal and charge for credit cards.
Savings, per year is substanual. - KazExplorerOne more for FlyingJ's. Two reasons: (1) we have a gas-powered motorhome and they're usually better than most places for gassing up (often a separate gas RV fueling station), and (2) my GoodSam membership gives me a 7 cent/gal discount (!) at Pilot/FlyingJ stations! Since those are usually the cheapest stations anyway, the discount makes me giddy about fueling up! (Well, maybe not giddy, but you know what I mean.)
Incidentally, I have a .csv file for all of the FlyingJ's in the U.S. PM me if you want it and I'll e-mail it to you.
