Finding County Parks

Over the years I have found it easy to find SP's, NP's,and other public CG's with just a State map or web site , but have never found a web site or maps that list County Parks. I have stumbled upon a few just along my travels and have found them quite nice and very affordable. Has anyone found a web site or another convenient way of locating these parks.

  • I seem to recall that woodalls.com lists all types of CGs.
  • Check out POI Factory It's been a great source of information for downloads to Street Atlas for me. They have a downloadable file of over 16,000 private and public campgrounds with name, address, and co-ordinates.
  • GPS.. search 'county' when you get there. Or, push 'Parks and attractions' shortcut.
  • You can google "county parks by state" then look at the states you will be visiting. That is the way we have found them.
  • We have found several but it usually takes using our paper map to find out what county we are in, and surrounding counties, and then doing an internet search of parks in that specific county. I also have never found a website that lists every county in every state in the USA.
