I guess it will boil down to what caused the fire or who caused the fire if it can be determined. If not, pretty much everyone is on their own. It is a real shame. - LobstahExplorerI'm sitting in Palm Harbor right now. That storage barn is about a mile from the park we're in.
Reading the article, they say there were several explosions while fighting the blaze, most likely from the gas tanks.
I'm thinking they were most likely from the propane tanks.
There were definitely some high-end coaches in there. Most "storage" down here is outside in a field beside the typical "U-store" facilities.
What a shame.
Jim - rgatijnet1Explorer IIIThe owner may be claiming that he has insurance ONLY for the building but if anything points to neglect or anything else that the owner did that could have caused the fire, the other insurers will be all over him.

- RayChezExplorerI agree with Rooster. You buy to protect your coach.

X-2, on the insurance! You buy it to protect yourself!
Let's hope that the insurance gets the owners back to where they were before the fire. I am assuming that the property owner has some type of insurance so I expect a fight between what the RV owner's insurance company will pay and what is paid by the property owner's insurance. With any luck they will come to a quick agreement and move forward instead of a long fight in court. - Passin_ThruExplorerSad. I know what it's like to dream about one for a long time. Poor people, it's still hard though it is just an object. We lost our barn 2 yr ago and it had a 1959 John Deere I was saving for my Grandson who was 7 at the time. I said,"You want another JD or a new one?" He said new one so everything was OK

Where we store they park them and turn off propane and everything necessary. Site is monitored all the time.
If one unit caused all of them to burn, I don't know.
Since they have custody Garage Keepers provisions should cover them. imo.
Doubt anyone gets what they are worth, if it defaults to Coach Owners Ins. Hardly see one with a mortgage on one owing less than it is worth, by the NADA book or Insurance value.
Never heard of garage keepers policies at least not here in Kalifornia
Everyone pretty much assumes that anything they store unless they

Be proven - okgcExplorerNear here in Michigan, I recently saw a barn roof that collapsed from snow load on stored motorhomes.
I thought that was terrible til seeing the fire photo. - demoonExplorerEvery indoor storage facility we have used requires owners to sign off on liability. Hopefully none of these folks cancelled their insurance to save a few bucks for the winter.
