A lot also depends on how, and how much you will be driving on them. Various "consumer publications" indicate that you will get a bit better mileage with the Michelin's, and as much as 15 to 20 thousand more miles out of them.
That being said, if you are not putting a lot of mileage on them, and keeping the speed down (60 or 65 MPH) during hot weather, you might be fine with other brands.
Just avoid any tires made in China.
I'll skimp on other things, but not the tires... so we've always stayed with Michelin's.
