Fitted black out shades for Econolines?

Our old PW Excel had a curtain in front that opened up and slid around to cover both the windshield and the side windows. So does our new Pursuit. I am surprised that the Traverse doesn't have this.

jjson, I think it did from the factory but it didn't get to me when I bought it used in 2007. I see velcro tabs on the headliner above the windshield. But, I have to say, PW's curtains SUCK!. I took them all off and had my wife sew in an insulating black out panel on the remaining window curtains. How these guys (PW and RT) put such poor window coverings on such expensive rigs when Sportsmobile uses fitted cellular shades on their rigs is beyond me.

I've owned 5 Pleasure-ways and never had a problem with their curtains and one of them was 17 years old. As a matter of fact, over the years that I have been on this forum I can't remember anyone every stating that PW and/or RT have poor window coverings. I have not however owned a 13 year old traverse model, maybe with the Traverse being their lower priced unit it comes with lower quality curtains??

Our Excel was 8 years old when we sold it, the curtains were still perfect. I agree with Charles, factory quality was fine. There was a rail that ran all around the front of the van and the accordion curtain slid all around it and was secured with a Velcro strip behind the passenger door. Sounds like yours may have been removed for some reason.

What I mean by they "suck" is that they are sheer, transmitting too much light. They used the same material on all their vans. But my point is, most better RV's use day/night cell shades and it surprises me that our Canadian builders continue to use cheap looking curtains. Just because the curtains lasted (and mine are 12 years old now) doesn't mean they are appropriately designed for the rig.

Not all the Canadian rigs, as LTV uses good window coverings. But, these days, they don't produce any B's as their small C's are too popular for them to keep up with the orders.

I don't see the PW Excel curtains as cheap and don't think they are sheer. Our new Pursuit does have day/nite shaded but I think curtains are better for a true Class B. Just my 2 cents.

I like the curtains and ours are by no means sheer. PW used to use a metal blind/shade on the kitchen window so that it could be easily cleaned if soiled. It is also pretty hard to damage a curtain. We had the day/night shades on our Class A, they were okay during the day but it was pain going around putting down all of the night shades in the evening, the curtains are much easier and if sunny and hot they do a good job of blocking out the sun. The fact that they still use them would be a testament to owner satisfaction.

By shear I mean they let light in. The panels my wife added to the street side of the curtains solved that.
