- mci7ExplorerFord says NO , however if it has the Mazda 5 speed manual, just put in neutral and go, no limit on speed nor distance. I went all around with Ford about my 2004 F150 2 wheel drive manual 5 speed. Remco set me straight. Have towed it more than 40,000 miles, no issues.
Ford in that case is just speaking lawyereeze.
Dave M - dakdaveExplorerMany manual transmissons ahould not be towed without removing driveshaft because they rely on splash lubrication and this does not happen very much when towing.
- Golden_HVACExplorerOlder truck with a manual transmission? Sure, several years allow that.
Check this towing guide to see if your truck is listed. You can look in it for 4 wheel down tow vehicles that are listed by Ford as OK to tow 4 wheels down.
http://www.fleet.ford.com/towing-guides/ Then click on the model year in question. However the 2015 trucks will not have information released until some time in September. . .
Check with Roadmasterinc.com for a hitch for the front of your truck. I think they might also sell a accessory that looks like a bumper guard, or other things that you at attach to the front hitch when not towing the truck with the RV.
Fred. - mowermechExplorerYour Owners Manual will give you the instructions and limitations.
If you don't have one, it is probably available to download.
do a google search for it. - EffyExplorer IIwhat year? The new ones can be flat towed but I think before '14 they can't without a modification. Call Ford.
- Two_HandsExplorerYou should also check out the towing capacity of your motorhome and hitch to insure the truck is not too heavy.
