- BumpyroadExplorerIf the OP already owned the RV I would think differently. as he is thinking of buying this one with these issues I see no need to go to the hassle and expense.
there must be about 3,000,000 other units available out there without a defect.
bumpy - moishehExplorerBumpy: Replacing the windows with new ones will just cause more problems down the road. The windows leak as the mfrs. use a substandard seal. Even the new MH's have the same seal. The rebuilt units have what is known as a super seal. It does not shrink or crawl and thus the rebuilders can offer long warrantees. So, yes, your advice is not good advice. There are probably 20 units in FL. last week that had windows fixed @ Sun Coast and more each week. I have never seen a complaint. These are being fixed by professionals not scabbed together. Why would you assume the workmanship is poor? Is that the type of place you take your unit to be repaired? A backyard shop? As stated: Even if you pass on the one with bad windows the unit with good ones will also leak unless they have been repaired already. The cost to repair the windows is around $2000. In the world of expensive Class A's that is no big deal.

Well, it is a trade-off. We bought our present coach with four SEGI windows with blown seals. Knew it going in and subtracted $$ for their repair.
They are repaired and we now have good windows AND the insulation value of dual pane windows.
As already posted, there are good shops around the country who do this work.
no problem if you buy the unit accordingly. subtract off the cost of having a professional reinstall new dual pane windows, not something scabbed together rebuilt, scraped off fogging gunk, etc. and of course get more off for transportation, inconvenience etc.
this is assuming that there is some compelling need/desire to buy that specific unit, not one similar but in decent condition.

The 2 brands used by FW are SEGI and Creative. Both have fogging problems. The companies that fix the fogged windows usually give you a lifetime warranty. With any FW ( and others) product it is not if it has fogged windows but when!. So following bumpy's advice is of no value.

so my recommendation to buy a motorhome that doesn't require a rebuild is of no value? :s

any places recommended in the la,ca area?
My buddy just had his done by Dave Root RV Glass. You can send him pictures of your windows, where you are located, and when he gets a few folks in the same area will drive down and do them. - wildmanbakerExplorerIf you have a door on the driver, or passenger side, they are single pane. If there is no door, they will be what the other side windows are. Dual pane windows are like slides, some people can't live without them, some want nothing to do with them. For us, once you have them, you can't live without them.
