Fleetwood jamboree charging system problems

First camping trip of the year in central New York. Plugged in to 110 power. Charging system keeps ramping up and down. Stops. Starts. 12v lights keep brightening and dimming as the charger goes on and off. Coach batteries were new in spring of 2014. When on getting 13 v at the battery. Anyone have an idea what we need to check next?
  • How long is the cycle time from low voltage to high voltage back to low voltage, and what are the voltage extremes at the battery and the converter? Is it a sudden change or a slow change?

Could be a battery problem or a converter problem, or maybe something else???

Not really. If you take the cover off, you might find that one side is the AC distribution and the other is DC/converter. Why ask for help then come back kind of snarky when someone ask you for more information? That is why you are here right???
The converters are known to go bad. If you are only getting 13VDC to your batteries, how many amps are you getting? It might not be enough to keep your batteries charged. Also, the flickering and you noticing the charger coming on and off could indicate your charger is going out as in surging to try to charge, then shutting off for some reason.

  • Welcome to rv.net!
It could be a shorted battery.

Next possibility is the converter is failing. Locate the converter and post make and model.
How old is thr ig? many older ones have poor converters.
