when I first got my MH it rode so well I 'd look down and I'd be going 75+ without even knowing it. Didn't get great gas mileage either.

Then I drove thru a pretty long stretch of area where you 'had' to do 55 if you were an RV. Couldn't believe my mileage jumped to 12mpg!

So that and the fact that I now full time and don't 'need' to speed to my destination I tried keeping it at 55 all the time. And yup 11 to 12mpg. I have the E450 chassis.

Try it sometime for a day's worth of driving I did and it does work. I am still VERY pleased with my V-10 31ft performance and towing ability! :C

I have a 1999 32' I get 6.5 us.

I need to slow down...sometimes catch myself going 70 mph on I-5 in CA...I have a 24' Born Free (3 weeks old) and have noticed how often I need to stop for gas. I am going on a huge roadtrip soon and will track my mileage, gas, etc. I need to know mpg! I don't tow, keep things light out/in storage. It's my speed. On this trip, I'll be enjoying the scenery and will be going much, much slower. :)

My V 10 gets somewhere between 5 and 20, so I don't think about it, I just try to make more money and just keep driving down the road.

I don't know about the sweet spot but its our comfort some for speed. We go a little faster on interstates but most times are not on those types of highways. Mileage drops off quick though over 55.

So much depends on how you drive, how often you stop, how many grades you pull, how well the tank was filled from the last run, etc etc.

As we are Geocachers, we tend to stop a lot, and work our way through rural routes which takes a toll on mileage. Yet there are times when we run for many miles on the interstates, yet the other factors are still in place.

You'll see numbers all over the place. We consider 9 to be average for our 27' MH with no toad, 2 to 3 passengers. We've seen tanks in the 6's and tanks in the 12's. We have 42K on the clock.
