Frame extension?

Crawl under the rear of the rig and look for a welded point. It is commonly about 6 feet back from the rear axle. Some even reduce the size of the frame.
If it exists loook to see if they added reinforcing plates to each side of the frame. I doubt if they did!

It's 99.99% certain that you have welded frame extensions on the rear of the frame. On a 24 foot motor home, it's unlikely that they put a frame extension in between the front and rear axles. Since it seems you don't want to use a trailer for your ATV, maybe a swivel wheel platform would suit you. Here's a LINK.

Even with a trailer, I would look at the way the frame may have been extended. It doesn't take much to reinforce the butt welded frame extentions.

At that length in a C, either the frame was extended or the coach was built 6-10 feet past the end of the frame without extending it, a technique used to create some garage model Cs and A gassers. If your motorhome ended at the end of the original frame it would look more like a U-Haul van, which is also extended, just not as much as a RV.

I have over 8 foot overhang from the rear wheel centers to the end of the RV

You more than likely have a frame extension. One option to eliminate the inherent down grading of towing ability that goes along that extension is to visit a metal fabrication/welding/hitch shop and have them fabricate a hitch that ties into the main frame. I had that done on my 24' motor home. The hitch is massive, but as far as I'm concerned I can go by what the van itself is rated to tow.

Most frames were stretched as well as extended including my SENECA. Take your VIN # to a dealer and ask what the original wheel base was and then measure it now. Mor Ryde did a lot of the stretches and extensions and they were all done in accordance to Ford/Chev specs.
