front door

I have a Mandalay Presidio coach. After a weekend of tailgating and the front door being slammed continuously, the door seems sprung. It is very hard to close and getting worse. Anyone had this problem? Is there an easy fix?
  • I would have an automotive body shop evaluate. Maybe only a latch adjustment. Mine has never sprung and it has been through a lot.
  • Look your door and door frame over very carefully for damage or loose screws. A broken hinge, or partially broken hinge will cause the same problem. If it is a broken hinge, you may be required to purchase a complete frame, or frame and door,
  • Does your year model Mandalay have the air assisted door gasket or the air assisted top lock latch? If the frame assisted air lock latch malfunctions or the nylon lock has broken it will cause these type problems. To see if you have the air assisted lock latch you look at the top area of the door frame and you will see a round roller and on the door frame a nylon guide. Doug
  • Have you leveled the coach and checked the door? If you have, then look for a bent or distorted hinge.
  • The coach is level. It happened while at the tailgate. We had about 8 people going in and out of the coach that were slamming door. First it got to where it would not shut easy and then people started slamming it. A weekend of that and it is now very hard to shut. Don't see anything bent but something is keeping it from shutting properly.
  • Measure the door opening to check to see if it has changed. The width at the bottom should be the same at the latch height.
Examine the door hinges to see if any screws are loose by opening the door and then trying to lift the door at the bottom to see if there is any looseness with the hinges. If the door moves up and down when opened, it indicates a hinge problem.

Check the pins on the latch (part of lock on door) and see if one came loose that will make it hard to latch shut slowly looking at pins and see if they are lining up.
