Fuel hose leaking

OK back from a long trip and I think I do have a bigger than 36 gal tank....not sure since at a little above half it took 30 gals.
But that is not why I am commenting. I had several not ready on the computer and thought after a 700 mile trip they would all now show ready but the EVAP still says not ready. This is a GM/Chevy and have read the cycle process but is there one just for the EVAP to reset? I have not found one just for that cycle....

yep it could be just a small crack in the hose...that was my problem and it did leak fuel so new hose and super tight clamps....all good. Am waiting to see if my not ready went ready after my last trip so I can get it smogged. I made the mistake of unhooking the battery and that makes it start the computer tests all over again. I have one of those readers so it should be good....hate computers...can't live without them and hate when they get in the way! LOL

my 2014 tioga 25g ford chassis...check engine light massive evap leak..continued driving and additional light for gas cap...took it to ford dealer...moved clamps around on fuel filler hose between tank and fuel filler...reset lights..smoke test..250 dollars paid by fleetwood...drove 300 miles and lights back on...got under r.v. and looked and all looked good..read there is a leak somewhere..so I put additional clamps at each end of fuel hose reset codes...no problems so far 1500 miles..keeping my fingers crossed..that was back in march of this year.

You on my 2005 four winds the fill tube has a small plastic trap door valve at the bottom of the metal tube where it goes into the 1 1/4" rubber pipe and from there into a metal reducer pipe that then goes into another rubber tube over to the top of the gas tank. Maybe that trap door valve is faulty. Take that rubber hose off and see if it is working right. It snaps into the bottom of the metal down tube from the filler that is on the outside of the coach. It might be worth looking over. It sounds like you have a restriction that is pushing back....the other thing is the vapor valve on the tank could be faulty and it will also push back air which trips off the pump. If you hold the rubber back hard when pumping and you feel air rushing out and you can hear the gas starting to bubble up towards the pump handle then you do have a restriction that is not letting the air pressure regulate and it maybe that valve on the tank. That is what I thought I had when it was cold but it was just probable the cold freezing the valve since it works fine now.

Wow 36 Gallon,really,they must have spec that just for them.
You have the same year and chassis that I have and they came with a 57 Gal tank. Unless that was a typo.

I wonder why Four Winds did that.

3 different stations all with same results, have to stand there and barely squeeze, no way will it even feed on the first click more than 2-3 seconds then clicks off, I have even tried holding the nozzle at different angles sideways, upside down, shoved in as hard as I can or barely enough to collapse the wonderful Ca vapor recovery hose over the nozzle,,, nothing helps !...

Mine is a 36 gal tank and it fills pretty fast....the pump is going full speed. Have you tried other stations or always going to the same gas station. That gas comes out of the pump pretty strong. ????

Have only had the MH for a few months now and have only filled it up 3 times.
Its a 55 gal tank ,each time have only had to put at most 40 gals and it took forever. Several people came in slide their card/went in paid came out filled up went back in and got their change and left before I finally filled up 40 gals! Then get to wash the windows ,check oil, do the walk around check list etc.
Its a good solid 20 mins to fill up then another 5 min to do the other stuff .

I've crawled around underneath and everything looks tight , no loose hanging hoses no kinks/ collapsed areas in any of the lines etc.
Its just a piss poor design !
They could have designed it alot better, molded flat hose for clearance and angle into top of fuel tank, then minimum 2.5 hose to filler neck. Would have fit perfect !

You know what is weird regarding fueling up is when it gets really cold. We took a trip to Texas a couple of years ago in December and as soon as we had to stop and get fuel it would only let me fuel about 30 seconds and then kicked off the pump...had to keep doing that for about 20 minutes to get just 10 gals. It was around freezing. Talked to some locals and they said that happens sometimes. I did some googling and found that this could be an indication that the valve for the fuel vapor system could be frozen or bad. So when we got back to CA I was all prepared to drop the tank to get to the valve and replace it. BUT it has not happened since. I will say going out in the RV in freezing weather will not be happening again. We even had our water hose freeze...it was nuts. We only went to Dallas to see our daughter before White Christmas...she is a Broadway actress and we follow her career.
So when it comes to fueling these things do not like the cold.

Yep sounds about right , not sure if you posted on the thread about how long it takes to fuel ours 5000's up ? Piss poor design if ya ask me how they did it !
But since nobodies asking , I'll freely give my opinion : Piss Poor Design ;) lol
