Full wall slide

Hello All,

I am curious to hear what type of success people are having with the full wall slide systems. We really like some of the Thor floor plans with full wall slides but it sure seems like a lot of weight on one slide. Any thoughts? Thanks

  • Probably hold up better. It's a box within a box with it's own framing!

This our first full wall slide and the first ten times I opened it, I first checked the exterior gaps and held my breathe. Now I'm pretty comfortable with it.

Not sure how well a full wall slide would hold up in something like this?
  • Thor!! Slides!!! better check out some previous thread concerning the matter

Maybe so, maybe not. But two separate slides have their own motor vs one. I just looked at the slide motor on one of our opposing slides. Unbelievable how small they are to run that slide in & our over and over. I think two smaller slides would be easier to support and track better than one big one, and most likely have a motor better capable of moving them?

Of course this is just my opinion, I could be full of it. :?
  • We have a 2013 Thor Palazzo 33.2. Good floor plan but our coach has been in the shop 3 times for slide repair. Google: Palazzo Slide Issues, PLENTY of reading there!
  • It is a lot of weight and hard on the slide bearings, but I really have heard very few complaints. So it might be ok.
  • On my 2015 Winnebago the storage compartments do not move with the slide. Mine drop down to create a level floor. I shudder during that transition but it works. Smaller slide on other side. Seems to be in balance. Love the space.
