I hadn't really used the fridge on propane beyond the testing I did when I first installed the line. Let it run a few hours on propane with no incident. While getting ready for an upcoming trip, I noticed that I hadn't put the cover back on the burner box for the fridge when I did that gas line repair. I put it on and while securing it with the screw there was a POOOOF! and bright orange flame in the box. I ran inside and shut the fridge off and pondered what had happened. Not being sure what the cause was, I did it again with the same results.
Long story short, the new line was leaking at the burner. Without the cover on the firebox the leak got enough fresh air to not ignite. With the cover on the box the propane was able to build up enough for the burner flame to ignite it. I had to crank down that compression fitting REALLY, REALLY tight in order for it to seal. It's okay now....
Just some words to the wise.
