Interested to know if the E350 performs the same MPG wise as the 450? I have the E350 and consistently average exactly 10mpg at the end of a trip from say LA to Yosemie Valley and back doing an average of 59mph or so. I also have a 24 foot class C RV so I am likely lighter than the 30 ish footers discussed, although I would assume the E350 has to work a little harder on the hills than the 45o does?
Actually the E350 does not work as hard as the E450. Same engine/drivetrain but a lot less weight and a taller differential. Our 2012 has a GVWR of 11,500 the 2013's and newer are 12,500 while the E450's are 14,500.
We have had our Nexus Phantom 23P (24'), E350 for nearly 3 years and 30,000 m miles and we consistently get 9.5 including some generator time. The ride is smoother than an E450 and we have plenty of payload (3,363#). On a class C under 25' the E-450 is overkill... still a fine coach but the rougher ride and diminished fuel economy bring few benefits to the equation.
As always.... Opinions and YMMV.
