gas mileage

What kind of mileage do y'all get with your rig?? (average) What is your rig, motor, size of coach ect.?
  • Hi,

Class C 13700 lbs equipped with air tabs. I found a "sweet spot" at 78 kph (49 mph). I have oversize tires (taller) and I get 12.5 mpg.
  • CHEVY 6.0 WORKHORSE VORTEC 26Q I get a tad bit better fuel mileage than a Ford based Rig. Mine runs between 9.4 and 9.7 mpg
  • Ranges from 8-9 mpg at 60-62 mph, depending on terrain and wind. Our Greyhawk is 32 feet in length on the Ford E-450 chassis with the V10 and the 5-speed transmission.
  • Just back from a 7,700 mile trip to Wyoming. Some headwinds going out. Lots of mountain driving while there. Some tailwinds coming back. Overall average of 9.6MPG for the trip.

Ford E450 with the V10 engine.

    I'm impressed.

So far I've consistently gotten between 7.5 and 8 mpg in my '98 Coachmen Santara 315QB with the Ford V10. I do travel mostly on the interstate and generally maintain the speed limit (or as near as possible given the terrain), so around 65 mph. Traveling at a more leisurely pace would doubtless improve my milage; these machines are about as clean aerodynamically as a barn.
