Gen-turi and aqua hot

The gen-turi is designed for generators but will also work for Aqua hot exhaust... so, we ordered one. Since the aqua hot has a 2inch exhaust, we had to also order a adapter which goes from 2 inch down to 1.1/2 which is what the metal part of the gen-turi is...
Will it be okay to use that arrangement rather than replace the metal section with 2-inch pipe?
Is the 2 inch going into 1.5 inch for a sort elbow going to be a problem?

  • Every neighbor's rig I've had with an aqua hot did smell. Many used Genturi.

My coach has an Oasis Hydronic unit and doesn't smell. I don't know if the newer AquaHot units still smell, so maybe a Genturi is needed.
  • I went to a local muffler shop and had a short piece made that fits over my Hydro Hot pipe and over my Genturi pipe. A skilled muffler man and his tubing bender made mine in 15 minutes. I have been using this for 5 years.

Doubt it will even fire up. I use one made from 2x4 gutter down spout.
  • KampingKris......Do you find the AquaHot pushes out enough odor/gas to be annoying to your neighbors. I use the Genturi on my generator (Onan 8000) because it does smell in close quarters and the Genturi helps, but our hydronic unit dissipates in a foot or two.
  • I would ask that question directly to the AquaHot folks. You may be creating excessive back pressure on the system and causing premature wear to the the burner assembly. I know the nozzles are under pressure so I don't know if adding the additional restricted piping would affect that. A known 'expert' is Roger Berke...see clicky below. He might be able to provide you with the best answer.

    Good question...thanks for posting....Dennis
