The resting voltage is 13 and the attempting to crank voltage is 12.8. THe main battery + cable draws almost 5 amps when trying to start, but the cable from solenoid to starter isn't drawing anything, so I'm guessing that the soleniod is drawing those amps, and the starter is doing nothing.
AH, Diagnostic post.. Have seen this in fact though it was not a generator.. Saved some folks big time when I started their vacuum motor though (Truck mounted carpet cleaner system)
Bad solenoid.. Any auto parts store can supply, standard part. if they need a make give them a 1980 ford anything. it will work though may mount different.
