Most likely it's a bad switch. Monaco used Carling switches that are prone to fail at times. I have four switches that control the generator, front dash, auto start, bedroom and the one on the genset itself. If, like me, you rarely use the one next to the bed simply change them out although my first choice would be the one on the generator itself.
That said, the switch numbers are proprietary to Monaco so the number on the switch is only valid if you purchase a replacement through Monaco. To bypass that issue, either count the number of connections on the back and call Carling or simply call Monaco with your coach number or last 6 digits of your vin and they'll provide you with the correct Carling number. I purchased a dozen various replacements when we were in Coburg a couple years ago and only have about six left.....Dennis
