Nope, he was being sarcastic saying Good Sam somehow lost out since he got free air and the shop down the street got the paying business. Personally, I agree with you, he got exactly what he paid for, someone came out and aired up the tires, just as the roadside contract calls for. He should be happy, but he is upset that the Good Sam contractor wouldn't perform roadside service for the same price the tire shop charged and he thinks he someone screwed Good Sam by not having the tire repaired roadside.

I'm just surprised people don't have a way to air up their own tires on the road or at home with a portable air compressor. Don't you check tire pressures before every trip?

Some MH even come withn air connection to the engine air compressor that can be used too.

I just don't understand not having a way to air up without a road service call.

Everybody does know that Good Sam doesn't own those service providers that come out and put air in the tires etc.? Good Sam pays those providers a contracted amount to go out on the call. That is where the financial intermingling between the provider and Good Sam ends. If the OP opted to pay the guy who answered the call the $80 to have the tire fixed, Good Sam would have gotten none of it.

Excellent Service Call and you pocketed $60.00 for the tire repair!

Service call went perfect

They came out and did the job. Got you back on the road safely. Just what AAA, Coachnet, or others would do. The mobile guy charges more for field repair than the tire store, I get that.
