Hankook tires

I bought new steer tires last year Firestone 560 14 ply and this year I am planning on putting on 4 Hankook AH-11 which are 245-70-19.5-My first quote is $1550-mounted-balanced-Does this seem in the ballpark -We live near Chicago where gas is $3.79 a Gal so even tires will be little higher than most.-I was told if the tires are 14 ply the ride will be a little harder but they would last 6 yrs easy-What you think???-========Thanks Rich

  • Hi racer, I have just two months ago put 4 on the rear and i paid 1533.00 out the door and three months ago i put two on the front. I love em! ride is better than the gy and i have your size also.Watch the air they put in them as mine was high as they had 100psi and i lowered them to 92 psi.. my preference. god luck you did good$$$ paul..
  • I think that may be a little high, as I was quoted $435/ea, mounted, balanced and taxes, out the door for Hankook AH-12 in 275/70R22.5 this year in AZ. Your size should be considerably less money.
  • That's what I have on mine. Mine ride good and balanced good. If I had to do it over again I would have stayed with the 8R's. With the 3 speed trans that I have there was a noticeable increase in the engine RPM and a slight drop in fuel economy. You will also need a spare if you have the 8r's currently. I did not see any better handling with the "lower profile" tires. I think I paid a little higher for 7 tires but that was almost 2 years ago. With the air bags I put on mine last year the ride actually smoothed out with the Hankooks.
