- deandecExplorerI did the Zep thing after removing all the old clear coat. It was then applied to the clean Gel Coat.
I am quite happy with the result as it directly matches my adjacent clear coated panels. - hersheyExplorerThe Zep or Red Max Pro application of course will work on an RV that doesn't have any sign of aging but its claim to fame is on an RV that has lost the original luster of the gelcoat finish. My 2001 was becoming very hard to keep a nice shine on so I went with the Red Max Pro (Zep) application and the results were truly amazing and continue to be amazing after over two years. I did re-do the area above the windshield because it deteriorated, probably because of my over aggressive attack on bugs. Something to consider.....

Just had TT waxed last month at CW. Should I wait and use Barkeeps friend in the fall and do Zep then or would it stick to new wax? Never seen the stuff and just now reading about it.
If you just had it waxed, I would wait until you're no longer happy with that finish, then do the zep process. The trick to zep is to remove all traces of wax, soil, etc. so that it does adhere directly to the surface.
BTW, if you're happy with the finish when waxing, you might not need zep. It came about as an answer to surfaces that had oxidized and no longer looked good even after repeated waxing. If your finish is good yet, you may be just as happy with continued waxing at this point. - Passin_ThruExplorerJust had TT waxed last month at CW. - dad4papa2ExplorerHmmm I might consider making mine look like a tank!!
- msmith1199Explorer IIYup, I've seen the SR-71 take off before. Makes the ground vibrate. That would be a cool wrap to put on a motorhome.

The SR-71 would be neat. Have you ever been under one taking off? Its there and then its gone! Wow!!msmith1199 wrote:
I haven't it, but if you do have it done give us a report back on how much it costs and whether it was worth it or not.
A was thinking about looking into a wrap for my motorhome. I looked at it about a year ago and if I remember right it would have cost about $1500 and they say will last about 5 years. Most of the time when people are doing wraps they are putting pictures or some type of advertisement on them, but it's all designed on a computer so you can put whatever you wanted on it. A custom stripe job, or a B-52 or anything you can think of. $1500 every five years is cheaper than an $8000 paint job every 10 to 15 years.
Wow, a "52" on the side of a coach, now that's cool. I'd like an SR-71 or, a maybe a B-58 Hustler, maybe even the "Enola Gay" too.

Zep wet look floor finish is probably the same thing for roughly 30 dollars and a few hours of your time.
Agreed. OP, you might want to check into it. Lots of us are very happy with the end result. Lots of information by searching zep here on the forum, and even more under red max pro. - donn0128Explorer IIZep wet look floor finish is probably the same thing for roughly 30 dollars and a few hours of your time.
