Help, no power to slideouts.

The last time that I used the slideouts, I had to flip the 12v disconnect rocker switch on the panel just inside the doorway to get them to work. I thought maybe I had bumped the switch prior to that and maybe it was in the disconnect position and had to be reset.

This time, I have flipped the disconnect switch numerous times and still have no power to the slides. I know that the switch is in the on position because everything else that is 12v works.

I have tested and verified 12v power at the fuse panel labeled slideouts.

Could there possibly be more than one fuse panel for the slides? Anyone else have this happen to them? All suggestions are welcome.

Thanks...Don

That picture is of the solenoid I was referring to. There should be two that are identical. One for the slides, the other for connecting the house and chassis batteries together when underway so the alternator can charge both. There should be two small posts in addition to the two large posts. These posts on the slide solenoid should have 12v across them when the ignition is turned on. That would energize the solenoid and connect the two large posts to allow power to the slides.

It appears that I have a similar set-up as yours, although the manual says to have the key in the acc. position. The slides will not work with the key in the ON position.

I noticed that this solenoid has an adjustment screw between the 2 large posts. I turned it 1/8th of a turn and now have power to both sides which gives me power to the slides. I've never seen a solenoid with an adjustment screw. What are your thoughts on that?

    Thanks for the input...Don
  • Hopefully the OP has found this problem?

A lot of good suggestions above.
Bottom line is, your ignition interlock is not allowing the slides to run. Different coaches have different interlock requirements. Our will not move if the ignition key is ON. There is a fuse in the main chassis panel that makes this work, and removing the fuse disables our interlock and lets the slides move anytime.
