My husband and I bought a 98 Damon Daybreak last year. Miles 30,000. Used it only a couple of times last year. Just got it out of storage last night. While riding home, about 20 mile ride, husband noticed right front driver wheel, rim cover got very hot. He could feel the heat under his foot. Dealer can't see it for two weeks. Want to take it out for labor day. Does anyone know what this could be and is it safe to take out?? Thanks for any help anyone can offer.
I will assume your saying he got out and put his foot on it?and could feel heat?
No, he said he could feel heat while he was driving it. Similar to heat being on near floorboard, but he had on AC.
I 100% agree with this. You don't have a brake problem...Period! At least not from the symptom you have described. The entire engine is between the driver and the right front wheel....no way could he EVER feel heat from the brake. I, like others, thought you meant he got out and put his foot on the wheel....that would be the only way he could ever feel the heat from it on his foot.
I personally think, he is just feeling the heat from the exhaust manifold/header pipe and more than likely, not a problem at all.
Good luck...
