HELP!! RVs are high (in height)!!
Okay everybody,
After months of searching for a Class A my wife and I would like, and after narrowing it down, I finally did something I should have done from the start!
We have a house with an RV garage, and we have always planned on getting one sooner or later (that's not why we bought the house...it was a side benefit. I have kept track of the length and width in my searches, but wrongly assumed I was fine on height! I have a low portion of the ceiling that is at 11' 7".
Most coaches seem to be at 12' 6" because of the A/C. We were really serious about a 06 Winnebago Journey DP, which is listed at 11' 6", which includes the ladder, so the roof is probably 8" or so lower. It has basement air, so good to go. HOwever, one we are really serious about has a satellite dome on it.
Here is what I need help with:
1) Are there any other RVs that fall below 11' 6" in height?
2) How much height is lost when you dump the air in a DP?
3) Can somebody with an 06 Journey tell me how high the ladder sticks up?
4) Can somebody with a Journey tell me how high the Sat dome is?
It will kill me to have pay for monthly storage for our coach and leave it outside...but on the other hand I don't want to buy something we would not be happy with.
Thanks for all your advice,
jeff
