Who let Archie Bunker into the forum? JimM, you offend me with your misguided assumptions. I hesitate to even respond. I can't believe that someone could troll a forum about Class A motorhomes regarding a simple question about an engine replacement, only to leave unsolicited “life-coaching” remarks based on his own wild assumptions. From where I stand, that tells me volumes about you. I'm sure you feel better about yourself after saying what you said.
I have never taken a penny from unemployment, and never will. I was laid-off, but I have used my talents to make money through other channels in the meantime. Not much, but enough to consider this engine work. By the way, you don't know my situation, what my family desires, or what area in which we want to live. Or for that matter, what career my wife is enjoying here now. You only assume that we live in a desolate area of Michigan with no future. But, I'd put Michigan up against most any area for the beauty and tranquility we enjoy, especially the U.P.
I see you have a blog about a Camaro rebuild. Nice looking car. Looks like you dumped many thousands of dollars into a 45 year old vehicle. I'll bet no one told you to part it out and get rid of it. Your suggestion to patch my engine up and “dump” the motorhome as fast as I can, tells me you would have no problem selling junk to others, all without a conscience. I don't operate that way! So, the next time you dispense your unsolicited life advice on an unrelated forum, be sure to remember what Benny Hill and my mother taught me long ago, “When you assume, you make an ass out of you and me!” Is that political?
