Honey RV

I am just wondering if anyone has every had a Honey RV or maybe if I'm lucky you still do! I recently purchased one and am in the process of gutting and redoing the entire thing due to massive water damage that was hidden. Any and all information on Honey RVs would be amazing!

Mine is a 1983 Executive (I'm assuming as there is NOTHING on the title but Honey).

I know it is going to be a lot of work and I've gotten a lot of information out of the DIY forum, it would be just much easier if I had some idea on other info. I'm still working on understanding the plumbing and electrical and exactly how everything works hooked up to the battery. By the way I am a newbie with an RV so its a major learning process. Thanks again.

    WOW, what an undertaking you have in front of you, but I bet when you finish it will be a beauty...good luck!

    We are a non-commercial site dedicated to the exchange of RV information in the ... Do you have a manual for the 1989 Honey motorhome with Ford motor?

    The general insides of the RV does not change drastically from year to year. So don't get stuck on only looking for an 83. Go up or down a year or two also when searching.

    With the appliances like the hot water heater, furnace, ac, etc. All you have to do is search the make and model and you will find the manuals for those on line easily.

    Major undertaking! It's very overwhelming! I have gotten very frustrated a few times during the gutting and I know I'll get frustrated some more yet.

    I'm excited at the same time I just wish I could find someone with some knowledge to actually help me haha. That or if I could be rich would probably be better at this point! Thanks for the encouragement!

    I installed living quarters in a 32 foot cargo trailer a few years back. Complete everything, plumbing, electrical, sewer ,water lines. There is a book that explains 12 volt systems and also the tech section on this forum was a valuable tool . It is quite an undertaking you have in mind but is doable with proper planning. If you have access to the plumbing and wiring I would recommend replacing each item you have in front of you as needed. Fitting paneling to walls and trim moldings require patience . Use templates out of cardboard before you cut anything. Save pieces you take off to use as templates.I assume you have basic mechanics experience and use of hand tools safely.

    Thank you. Much of the stuff will probably not go back in. As much as I would love to possibly do cross country vacations with my Honey I can't see being able to due to the amount of money I would need to replace certain things. So I'm just getting her set up for my daughter and I to use a few times a year. I'm excited but know it's going to be extremely stressful lol.

    A total rebuild thread by "oldtrucker63" can be difficult to find on Rvnet because the search is missing posts (and tonight it is not working at all for me!) But this was my all time favorite thread on rvnet and an amazing job of rebuilding an RV.

    Honey was a totally wood built MH so repairs should be fairly simple for wood working. There was one for sale near me. I can't recall if it was Fennville or Saugatuck but it is now gone. I had a '76 Fireball for my first MH and found you could go to Elkhart and get any type siding to match. I am back into older MHs because I couldn't do the 6 steps up into my Mountain Aire.
