House 12 Volt system

Coming home yesterday and everything powered by the house batteries stopped working---everything including things that just need 12 volts to keep them running like the frig. Batteries are less than a year old and read about 12.5 + checked with a load tester and all are good. I have current from the batteries at least to where the cable goes in the frame but don't know what to look for down line. This is a 1997 Winnebago Luxor DP. I have all the factory wiring diagrams but they aren't to clear to me. Any suggestions??????

Well here we go---I owned a garage/repair facility for 40 years and its not the batteries, but I am far from well versed on these DP even if I have had this one for 15+ years SO, If there is a cut off switch I have never used it and I don't see it mentioned in these drawings. If this is the same as a disconnect relay I still don't know where it is.....at least you all are trying, thanks......No converter as I removed that years ago.

Only thing I can suggest is to find the "Salesman Switch" that might be the issue - Just a guess.

But I really don't know that much - Forgot most of the little bit I ever learned.

    JMHO,

12.5 volts is basically dead batteries. You need to check several things. Converter disconnected from battery should read 13.6VDC. Output from the alternator should read about the same. You could have lost the battery isolator. You could also lost the converter.

    your way OFF

11.5 is usally considered discharged enough for inverter shut down

12.0 - 12.2 is 50% voltage depends on battery chemistry

    12.5 is like 80% charged
  • Check the disconnect relay if you lost your power while driving. Then check the switch to the relay, for starters.
  • Do you mean you were driving home and lost all house 12 volts?

Is your house disconnect switch turned off? Don't know where your switch is located, usually up front someplace. Some are by the door and very easy to turn off by accident.
